As a Hair stylist, Raphael shares his journey from no hair at all to neck length dreadlocks

What started as a dare by two close pals has motivated Raphael to adopt a lifestyle he is proud of to maintain. It all started three years ago when Raphael was hanging out an afterparty and the drinks had gotten to his head. He moved over to one of the attendees and shared the knock knock whose there joke! Apparently other party poopers weren't having a time of their lives as well so the joking group of two quickly became a mob. Heckles of laughter would be heard over the apartment block and the host dared Raphael to never shave his hair for the next ten years as a free password to all his parties. A dare which Raphael gladly took.

Today, three years later, Raphael can feel his hair drop on his eye lashes or sometimes get startled thinking an insect is crawling on his neck only to discover it is locks of his elongating hair. Hahaha.

He knows, now, how to shampoo, retouch and protect hair from moisture and dust. All this he has learnt from an international hair dressing college where he signed up on March of 2021. Raphael is passionate about his hair and takes pleasure in folding it into different designs as he sees fit.

He encourages everyone with desire to wear long hair to pursue their passion. Looking back he has very little to regret about. Very little as he can never forget the few church women groups that rebuked him as a goon for their lack of awareness, stereotype and impunity. In fact Raphael thinks this is a lifestyle he wants to maintain past ten years and hopes that one day he will identify with members of the Rastafrian culture.
